A downloadable game for Windows and macOS

ChromaCloak was created during McGill's "McGameJam 2017" over the course of 48 hours. It was my first experience participating in a game jam, and yet we were extremely successful, managing to receive one of the "Judges' Favourites Awards" as decided by Ubisoft Montreal developers.

This top-down pseudo-stealth game has you dashing your way through various levels as you change your character's colour to blend into the lights and avoid detection. Despite the 48 hour time limit, the game includes 12 complete and distinctly challenging levels, with a final boss that continues to push the boundaries of the game's mechanic.

While the game itself is quite basic, lacking many art assets or higher visual fidelity, the focus in our design was to create a compelling gameplay mechanic that allowed for varying challenges without straying from the core concept. In fact, this was the reason why we were selected for one of the Judges' Favourites Award even when compared to 30+ other games.

Both PC and Mac versions of the game are available. The game is best played with an Xbox controller where the colour of the face buttons correspond to the colour change of the character. Although the game can also be played with WASD to move and BNM to change colours. (Note: avoid playing the game on the 'Fastest' or 'Fast' graphics qualities)
