A downloadable game for Windows and macOS

"Cash is King" was created during the Ludum Dare 40 Game Jam in December of 2017, over the course of 72 hours. This was my second experience participating in a game jam, although this time the game was made in a much smaller team of 3 students. Despite this, the final product was much more fleshed out, with many custom-made 3D art assets and even an original soundtrack.

This game was inspired by the provided theme of: "The more you have, the worse it is". The idea was to create a humorous game about a robot thief trying to rob a corporation for all the cash they have; however, not only does picking up cash slow you down, it also makes your character more and more greedy. This greed results in ever increasing distractions that will appear on the screen (such as spinning dollar signs or flashing words) and hamper your ability to stay focused and stay hidden.

I learnt a lot in the creation of this project, not only in terms of game design and programming, but also teamwork and coordination. I was one of only two programmers on the project so I had a lot of responsibility and had to repeatedly learn on the fly under a strict timeline. In addition, amongst our team, all three of us were residing in different cities across North America and needed to be very organized and coordinated to get the work done in an efficient manner.

Both PC and Mac versions are available below.
